Hi. I’m Jennifer Low. I hope you have many hours of fun with Kitchen for Kids. I would love to hear from you, so maybe I should tell you a little about myself first.

First, I’m a Mom. I have a little boy and an even smaller girl. I love them to pieces. A lot of parents are that way.

I also write about food for magazines and newspapers. Food has always been a part of my life, from my early memories of my father’s cakes and my mother’s dumplings to the fun dinners that I’ve cooked with my husband and our friends. I love how food makes everyone laugh and enjoy other people and their stories as much they enjoy the food itself. It’s a kind of magic, really.

I wrote Kitchen for Kids because I wanted my kids to know the incredible thrill of making amazing recipes themselves (with my help, of course) and having a really important place in the family kitchen. Cooking was something they really wanted to learn. And now they have. And you can, too.

Over the next few months, I’ll be giving cooking lessons on TV, in stores and in cooking schools. I’ll use this space to let you know what I’m doing and where I’m going to be by leaving a “Fridge Note” posted below. If I’m in your area, bring your parents along and come and say hey. I’d love to meet you. And in the meantime, I hope you’ll check in occasionally at the Kitchen Party for some kitchen tips and to let me know what’s in the oven at your house!
